Jagela Steps Down
In response to his own request freely presented, Rev. Walter Jagela has been relieved of the office of pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, New Martinsville, West Virginia, and placed on leave from active ministry, effective Monday, July 12, 2010. At the same time, his priestly faculties have been withdrawn, preventing him from celebrating the sacraments publicly or privately. The action taken relates to Jagela’s decision to leave the priesthood, and this step will permit him time to reflect on that decision.
