Mission & Values Statements

The West Virginia Catholic Heritage Center exists as a resource for educating and enriching the public about the state’s Catholic heritage through exhibits, special programs, outreach activities, access to historical records, and promoting historical research.
To further this mission, the West Virginia Catholic Heritage Center will:

• Partner with Diocesan institutions, other denominations and community groups on exhibits and events
• Highlight the laity’s role in the growth and development of the Catholic Church within West Virginia
• Document the roles of priests, religious men and women, and Diocesan institutions within West Virginia
• Reflect the genesis and expansion of the Diocese in relation to cultural and economic events within West Virginia
